What is the Big Idea? The Big Idea Center is not your average student center. It is where new ideas begin, future change-makers meet, and the boldest opportunities on campus take shape. During Kickoff Week, we’re opening our doors to anyone ready to explore what’s next. Whether you want to make something, change something, or just see what’s possible, this is your invitation to jump in.

Throughout the week, our space will come alive with energy, conversation, and connection. Drop in to meet fellow students, enjoy a cup of Saxbys Coffee, get inspired, and discover all the ways you can get involved this fall.

No pressure, no prerequisites. Just big energy and even bigger ideas.

Stamp your way to success during Big Idea Kickoff Week
Get to know student resources across the University of Pittsburgh in a fun and interactive way during Big Idea Kickoff Week (Sept. 8-12)! Pick up a Resource Map and explore spots like the Career Center, Center for Creativity, Open Lab, and the Big Idea Center. Collect stamps at each stop, then return your completed map to the Big Idea Center (3601 Forbes Ave.) to claim a prize. Discover tools, connections, and spaces that can help you bring your Big Ideas to life and achieve your individual goals – all while having fun and winning rewards.
